InsertIt stores clipboard history on your Mac. Text, links, and item metadata are kept in the app's local database. Screenshot originals and thumbnails are saved as files in Application Support.
InsertIt does not sync clipboard history, screenshot metadata, or OCR text to a hosted database.
Screenshot OCR runs on your Mac through Apple's Vision framework. InsertIt does not contact websites to fetch link titles, favicons, or page metadata.
In the app, you can pause capture, clear history, pin items, configure retention, and exclude sensitive apps from capture. InsertIt also runs conservative local checks for password-like or token-like text and skips content those checks flag.
The 14-day trial starts locally on first launch. If you buy a lifetime license, Stripe handles checkout and receipts, and InsertIt stores the license certificate locally on your Mac.
License activation sends your purchase email, license key, anonymous install ID, and app version to InsertIt's licensing endpoint. Clipboard text, screenshots, OCR text, and history metadata are not sent for licensing.
If you explicitly ask for product updates, InsertIt stores your email address, the version and time of your consent, and the delivery status needed to avoid emailing an address that bounced, reported spam, or unsubscribed. A confirmation link must be opened before the address is added to the product-update mailing list.
Product-update emails are delivered through Resend. We do not enable open or click tracking, and we do not send clipboard history, screenshots, OCR text, app-use data, or an installation identifier with your subscription. Every product-update email includes Resend's standard broadcast unsubscribe link, which immediately stops future product-update broadcasts.
This website does not run client-side analytics pixels or tracking scripts. The hosting provider may still provide aggregate request counts through Cloudflare.
